The Pretty Little Dolly
The "Pretty Little Dolly" by Mona Abboud. This is from the Dr. Demento program way before my time. However, I've listened to it so many times and even performed it a few times. It still cracks me up beyond belief. Mp

Madigan: No overhaul, no McCormick Place rescue - Chicago Breaking Business
Madigan: No overhaul, no McCormick Place rescue - Chicago Breaking Business
Sorry, but shouldn't this sort of leadership be coming from our governor and not the lowly speaker of the state house of reps? I don't understand this state. ugh.

Gary Meier gets afternoon slot on WGN - Chicago Breaking Business
I'm a big fan of Chicago talk radio, though not necessarily of Gary Meir. I do know that the Ro Con show on the big 89 WLS has been rather dull and predictable for a while now. Maybe I'll take more advantage of my WGN Radio Ipod App to check out Gary's new show. His sidekicks, if any, will make or break it. Mp

zimbra ... may it rest in peace
I've about given up on this program. It held promise for enabling Yahoo Mail users to download their emails via IMAP to their pc's. Well. Version 2 doesn't work. At all. I've tried everything I can think of, and the program simply won't download my emails except for my inbox. So ... I guess I'll find another solution. Goodbye Zimbra.

third time's a charm
I had to go to my car dealership 2x on Wed and once on Thursday to get my key fob replaced. Well, one of the fob's. It's the one of the two that is barely used, and yet again it's the one with the low battery or that goes defective. I am not sure what happened. Anyway, I needed an oil change also, so I asked them to correct the fob problem as well.
Unfortunately, I did not check the fob's they gave back to me before I left the lot. I later found that they had replaced the wrong one when I went to pick up a friend for lunch and parked the car and turned it off. I went to lock the car remotely while in the condo parking lot, and the fob failed to work at all. GRRR. It appears they had given me back the bad one and simply replaced the good one. What dummies!
So, on the way to the pizza buffet (nummy) I called the dealership and advised them what had happened and that I would be back in within an hour and needed them to again replace the bad fob.
After kicking myself for not checking the fobs this time either, I simply drove home and finished out my day. However on Friday morning when I went out to my car to run an early morning errand, I found that the fob again did not work. I, by this time, am quite irritated. How could they have done this to me 2x: they must have replaced the good fob and given me back the bad one. I went back to the dealership on my way to work, having beforehand warned them them that I was in a bad mood due to their stupidity, so they could replace the fob this third time. The third time's the charm.
Once they were done, I drove out of the service bay and parked in a lot spot. I tested both fobs several times, and they worked just fine. What isn't working fine is my patience with what is supposed to be a professional business. I think, at the least, they need to use common sense. At the most, they need to drill down through their quality control process and see where they are going wrong. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I've had a service issue with this dealer. I keep hoping they'll learn their lesson. I keep hoping for the unlikely, apparently.

This might be the strangest story I've read in a long long time. I mean, I think WTF applies here.... Mp
